Evan Polei signerte for Oilers forrige sommer. #9 ble kjapt en publikumsfavoritt. For innsatsen på isen selvsagt, men også grunnet engasjementet for menneskene rundt klubben og organisasjonen, supporterne og ikke minst gjengen i Mental Helse Ungdom Sandnes.
Nå velger den robuste canadieren å se videre mot nye muligheter. Det blir med den ene sesongen i DNB Arena, i alle fall for denne gang. Han ønsker å takke for seg med følgende hilsen:
"I want to thank Oilers for giving me the opportunity to represent this amazing organization. I can’t say enough good things about how I and the team was treated all season. True A class organization.
Also would like to thank all the fans and community for their generosity and unconditional support towards me and the team through the ups and downs this season. Obviously we came up short of the ultimate goal this year. My goal was to win a championship and I’m obviously disappointed that didn’t happen.
But I also came over here to find the love for the game of hockey again and I did. I’ll be forever grateful for my time in Stavanger, as short as it was. I wish the team and organization best of luck moving forward and I’ll always have a place in my heart for this city and fans! Tusen Takk!"
